Hitchcock_Tober at Angelika Film Center: The Birds

Hitchcock’s iconic classic, The Birds, turns seemingly harmless creatures into some of the most terrifying villains in horror history. Starring Rod Taylor, Tippi Hendren, Suzanne Pleshette, and Jessica Tandy, the story begins as an innocuous love triangle, but turns dark when the characters’ sense of security is slowly eroded by the curious behavior of the birds in the area. Panic mounts as birds murder a chicken farmer by pecking him to death, create a flash fire at a gas station, and swarm over the local children as they leave school.

The Rocky Horror Show

From October 14-October 30, enjoy The Rocky Horror Show presented by Art Centre Theatre. In this cult classic, sweethearts Brad and Janet, stuck with a flat tire during a storm, discover the eerie mansion of Dr. Frank-N-Furter. As their innocence is lost, Brad and Janet meet a houseful of wild characters, including a rocking biker and a creepy butler. Through elaborate dances and rock songs, Frank-N-Furter unveils his latest creation: a muscular man named “Rocky.” Fran-N-Furter and his motley crew did the “Time Warp” on Broadway in a 25th anniversary revival. Complete with sass from the audience, cascading toilet paper, and an array of other audience participation props, this deliberately kitschy rock ‘n’ roll sci-fi gothic musical is more fun than ever.

Gates open at 10am for registered guests. Tickets must be purchased in advance so that they can safely manage our attendance for this program.

Stations are open during the two-hour, come-and-go style program and close at noon. After the program is over, guests are welcome to enjoy time on their own until we close at 2pm. Bring a picnic lunch or snack if you like.
