Whether you’re visiting Plano for fun, or for a meeting or event, Plano has several hotels with swanky bars and lounges. Even locals find themselves frequenting hotel bars for their unique atmospheres and tasty drinks and bites before a dinner out.
Dallas/Plano Marriott at Legacy Town Center
The Dallas/Plano Marriott at Legacy Town Center just recently added a new beautiful bar to their lobby called the Rustic Jewel. They could not have come up with a more fitting name for this gorgeous bar! It certainly is a jewel and more of a “hidden gem” for locals. As visitors check-in, they can casually (and quickly) find their way to the bar for a beverage. A favorite is their old fashioned that is smoked right in front of you on a fresh plank of cedar, typically with Bulliet Rye. And you can’t visit Texas without enjoying a margarita! The spicy margarita with homemade spicy tincture is also a hit. The beverage team is also aging Crooked Fox, a local whiskey, in their own oak barrel giving a unique flavor profile guests won’t find anywhere else. Before exploring the infinite amount of restaurants just outside the hotel at The Shops at Legacy, this bar is the common meeting area for groups to enjoy a happy hour drink before dinner. Staying in after a big day? Try these delicious food offerings from the hotel: a Smoked Half Chicken, Southwest Three Pepper Chili, or a Smoked Chicken Avocado Flatbread.
Hilton Dallas/Plano Granite Park
The Prairie Fire Bar at Hilton’s Dallas/Plano Granite Park draws inspiration from Plano’s early settlers and provides symbolic architecture of roaring fire above the bar. Guests can find themselves getting comfortable next to the indoor or outdoor fireplaces before walking to dinner at The Boardwalk. Live music is played during the summer months on the outdoor patio as well. Offering unique libations and light snacks in a relaxing atmosphere, Prairie Fire features signature cocktails, wines and premium draft beers. And to top it all off, they offer a fabulous happy hour special Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Renaissance Dallas at Plano Legacy West
On the contrary, envision yourself walking into a darkened lounge at night highlighted by the deep red tones of an Asian art piece and 150 North Texan ranchers’ cattle branding irons hanging from the ceiling over the Japanese dragon-inspired carpet. Whiskey Moon’s decor at the Renaissance Dallas at Plano Legacy West is on-point with the rest of the hotel’s “East meets West” vibe. While the “9 to 5” work day is important, the Renaissance culture believes the “5 to 9” is even more so. You will find a mix of business travelers and locals enjoying bites like Pork Belly Japanese buns and beautifully crafted drinks like Pecan Old Fashions and Maccha Collins. As you can guess by the name, behind the bar is an impressive collection of whiskey including bourbons and Japanese Whiskey.
Moxie’s Grill & Bar at Sandman Signature Plano
Located next to the new Sandman Signature Hotel, the sleek lounge at Moxie’s Grill & Bar features creative cocktails like the Avocado Gimlet with rosemary and olive infused gin, avocado, simple syrup and fresh pressed lime, and the Strawberry Ghost Pepper Margarita with ghost pepper infused tequila, fresh strawberry, Texas orange and fresh pressed lime. Go for happy hour Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. and order the guacamole, potstickers, and lettuce wraps for the group. No need to venture out because Moxie’s also has an amazing dinner menu featuring items like Salmon and Avocado Cobb Salad, Blackened Mahi Mahi, Red Thai Curry Bowl, and Texas Prime Rib Eye.
