Q&A With Millerann

Q. Can you tell us a little about yourself?

A. I’m the Assistant Director at Visit Plano, where I have the privilege of helping tell Plano’s story and showcasing everything that makes our city a great place to visit, meet, and explore. I’m passionate about destination marketing, building strong community partnerships, and creating campaigns that inspire people to experience Plano. I graduated from Texas Tech University (Wreck ‘Em) with a degree in Public Relations, and I love finding creative ways to connect visitors with the people, places, and experiences that make our destination unique. I’m married to my high school sweetheart, and we have two sons. On the weekends, I’m just a soccer mom living her best boy-mom life.

Q. What were your previous roles before joining the Visit Plano team?

A. Visit Plano has been my professional home for my entire tourism career. Over the past 15 years, I’ve had the opportunity to grow alongside the organization, taking on increasing responsibilities and helping shape marketing initiatives, tourism campaigns, and community partnerships that have contributed to Plano’s continued success as a destination.

Q. How long have you been with Visit Plano and what is your favorite part about working for Visit Plano?

A. I celebrated 15 years with Visit Plano in May 2026. My favorite part of the job is seeing the positive impact tourism has on our community. I enjoy collaborating with our local hotels, restaurants, attractions, and businesses to help showcase everything Plano has to offer. Every day is different, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see visitors discover Plano and create lasting memories here.

Q. What are some of your favorite things to do, see, and eat in Plano?

A. One of my favorite things about Plano is that there’s always something new to discover. I love spending time at Legacy West and Downtown Plano, exploring new restaurants, shopping, and live music. Legacy Hall is always a fun spot to meet friends, and Oak Point Park Nature Preserve is one of my favorite places to unwind outdoors.

Q. What has been your favorite vacation?

A. I love traveling because every destination offers something unique to experience. We are beach people and love cruising! Favorite vacations were one year we had each of our kids pick a vacation to celebrate their birthday. My youngest chose NYC to see the Statue of Liberty and both sets of grandparents came; it was the best time! My oldest son chose Fort Lauderdale to go to an Inter Miami CF game, and we got to see Lionel Messi play a great game. We’ve also enjoyed Newport, RI; Martha’s Vineyard, MA; Port Aransas, TX; Broken Bow, OK; and Murfreesboro, AR.

Q. Guilty pleasure: What can you not live without?

A: My guilty pleasure is the Real Housewives franchise (don’t come for me), as well as queso and Mexican food in general. I also couldn’t live without a morning iced coffee.

Q. What is a fun fact about yourself?

A: Most people are curious where I got my name. My mother’s maiden name is Miller, and she was the last generation Miller, so she found a creative way to carry it on; and her middle name is Ann. I was originally born with the name Miller-Ann, but had my name legally changed to Millerann when I was 8 years old.
