Q&A with Hailee
Q. Can you tell us a little about yourself?
A. I’m a born and raised Air Force brat so I had the incredible opportunity to live in over seven states and travel to 48 of the 50 states – just need to get to Oregon and Vermont! While I never really had a traditional hometown, I claim Ohio as the area that really helped shape me. GO BUCKS! Texas has now been my home for over six years, and it has brought me so many new friends, connections & a wonderful husband. A few of my favorite things are – traveling, working out, cooking, reading, and enjoying musical theatre!
Q. What were your previous roles before joining the Visit Plano team?
A. After graduating from The Ohio State University, I began my career in the locum tenens world, recruiting doctors and nurses for temporary contracts to get experience in a corporate, professional setting, but I always knew hospitality was the industry for me. After leaving that job, I began a temporary contract with an independent planner to learn about the world of events and conferences. A MASSIVE thanks to her for being the steppingstone to my next role as the Conference Services Coordinator with Omni PGA Frisco, where I spent two years honing in on my skills to provide the best experience for all our clients! From Omni, I made my way to Visit Plano where I have been living it up ever since!
Q. How long have you been with Visit Plano and what is your favorite part about working for Visit Plano so far?
A. I just officially hit one year (YAY!) at the end of May this year. I have really enjoyed working with my amazing team and learning more about all that Plano has to offer!
Q. What are some of your favorite things to do, see, and eat in Plano?
A. I am a major foodie and Plano has an unbeatable food scene! A few of my go-to’s are Bulla Gastrobar for their sangria blanca & montaditos, a milanesa torta from Salsa Verde, and all-you-can-dream-of pizza at Delucca Gaucho Pizza & Wine.
If you are looking to go off the beaten path, my favorite place for a quaint stroll is in the Arbor Hills Nature Preserve.
Q. What has been your favorite vacation?
A. My favorite trip has to be a recent one to New York City. Last year, I took a trip over my golden 27th birthday to celebrate with my boyfriend and best friend since childhood. While I have visited the city many times, this one felt extra special because my boyfriend proposed overlooking the lake at Central Park while a singer performed nearby. It was such an unforgettable trip, buuuuut I think our honeymoon trip to Italy in June might top it!
Q. Guilty pleasure: What can you not live without?
A: Coffee, Dill Pickle Kettle Chips, Gansitos, and a crisp Sauvy B.
Q. What is an interesting fact about yourself?
A: I worked at Disney World during college for the Disney College Program and got the chance to be on the opening team for the Galaxy’s Edge land. Ironically, I still to this day have never seen anything to do with Star Wars…
