Plano, Texas may not be the first place that comes to mind when envisioning a girls trip, but don’t let its understated reputation fool you. From upscale shopping and trendy brunch spots to spa retreats and elegant accommodations, Plano has everything you need to create a fabulous and memorable escape. It’s perfect for a chic girls’ getaway when you need to unwind and recharge. Besides, we all know girls’ trips are simply good for the soul. (As if we need an excuse.) So, pack your bags and get ready to experience the chic side of this North Dallas suburb.

Here’s a few ideas to help you plan a fabulous girls weekend in Plano.

Where to Stay on a Girls Weekend in Plano

Where you stay on a vacation can make all the difference. When choosing accommodations for your trip, you’ll want to consider staying near the Shops at Legacy and Legacy West. This area is both trendy and walkable. With so many shops and restaurants, it’s an ideal base for a girls’ weekend in Plano.

Dallas-Plano Marriott at Legacy Town Center

While there are a few different options, I’m typically a Marriott gal so my recent stay was at the Dallas/Plano Marriott at Legacy Town Center. This Marriott is one of the higher-end options from the chain. It’s a little bit of a splurge but nothing crazy and the elevated atmosphere will add to the overall feel of your girls weekend in Plano. It’s also extremely convenient to where you will want to spend most of your time. The Shops at Legacy begin just adjacent to the hotel putting plenty of shops and restaurants just a few steps away. There’s also a gelato shop caddy corner to the property – as if I need easy access to treats.

Let’s get back to convenience. Legacy West, where you will find some of the more upscale designer shops, is only about a 10- or 15-minute walk away from the Marriott at Legacy Town Center. On a nice day, you don’t even have to worry about getting in the car. Of course, there are so many shops in between. Take your time and mosey in and out along the way. If you prefer to drive directly over to Legacy West, it’s just a few minutes up the road. There is plenty of free parking in the garage. You can also opt to use the complimentary hotel shuttle.

During your downtime, be sure to check out a few of the hotel amenities. There is a Starbucks on the ground floor near the lobby and a rooftop pool on the second floor. If you prefer not to swim, there are plenty of chaise lounges and tables where you can relax and soak up some sun. The hotel also features a cocktail bar with plenty of comfortable seating.

Things to Do During a Girls Weekend Getaway in Plano, Texas

So much to do. So little time! It’s time to choose how you will spend your girls weekend in Plano. One of the best things about Plano as a girls’ trip destination is that it’s the perfect place to set your boujee spirit free! So, if you don’t get many chances to plan a luxury trip with the girls, this is your chance. It’s time to spend your weekend checking out the latest designer bags, adding to your Lululemon collection, and eating at the best restaurants. Here are a few ideas to help you plan a boujee weekend and live your best life in Plano with the girls.

Brunch Like a Champion

What’s a girls’ trip without a brunch date? Luckily, Plano has a range of fabulous brunch spots that are both delicious and insta-worthy. For a chic and upscale experience, head to Sixty Vines. This California-style establishment features fresh, locally sourced cuisine paired with refreshing wines and bottomless mimosas. The creative twists on beloved brunch classics make this restaurant a home run. Whether you opt for a sweet brunch or a savory one, don’t leave without trying the Deviled Affogato.

Whiskey Cake: Known for its a farm-to-table concept and contemporary twist on traditional American comfort food. The menu features creative dishes such as the Farmhouse Benedict, Wagyu Pastrami Hash, and the Carrot Cake Pancake Stack. Sticky Pudding has been an obsession of mine since my first trip to London in 2018. Maybe you are someone who also loves the famous English dessert. Maybe you have no idea what I’m talking about. Either way, order the namesake dessert, Whiskey Cake.

The Biscuit Bar: This one is for the biscuit lovers. The Biscuit Bar is known for using biscuits to recreate a variety of breakfast and brunch favorites. The menu features both sweet and savory dishes with options you probably won’t find anywhere else. At least, not easily. Head here for a unique take on classic southern dishes like the Biscuit French Toast and the Chicken and Not-A-Waffle.

Union Bear Brewing Company: A brewpub with a brunch menu? How perfect! This restaurant/brewery is like the West Coast packed up and moved to Texas. Union Bear, Plano’s first brewery, is known for its signature craft beer and chef-driven menu. The vibe is laid back, the experience is elevated, and the food is top notch. For a sophisticated brewpub brunch, dine on dishes like the Monte Cristo Flatbread or the Pork Carnitas Benedict. If you can, grab a table on the patio.

Shop Til You Drop

Whether you are seeking designer brands, trendy boutiques, or charming antique shops, Plano doesn’t fall short. Here are some of the must-visit shopping locations in Plano to add to your girls weekend itinerary.

Legacy West – Luxurious & Sophisticated

One of the premier destinations in Plano is Legacy West, a sophisticated retail development for high-end shoppers. The sprawling area is home to upscale boutiques, luxury shops and trendy restaurants. Some of the highlights in the Legacy West shopping district include Gucci, Tiffany, and Louis Vuitton.

Beauty product enthusiasts can stock up at Sephora, pick up MAC favorites, or indulge in bottle of new perfume from Chanel. In fact, the Chanel in Legacy West is where I found my new favorite scent that is exclusively sold in boutiques. That made my weekend! When you need a break from your girls’ weekend shopping spree, pick up a gelato cone from the Amorino Gelato shop next to Rustic Cuff.

The Shops at Legacy – Chic & Trendy

Another must-visit shopping district to add to your girls weekend in Plano is The Shops at Legacy. This charming and pedestrian-friendly area is known for trendy boutiques and chic fashion finds. You’ll find a variety of shops from fashion labels to local artisans to peruse for those can’t-live-without items. The ambiance is lively and inviting, with plenty of dining options, happy hour locations, and treat shops.

Downtown Plano – Nostalgic & Eclectic

For a change of pace, Downtown Plano adds a touch of nostalgia to your girls trip shopping experience. The OG Plano business hub has evolved into a collection of antique stores, art galleries, and eclectic boutiques. High Street Antiques stands out as a treasure trove for vintage and antique enthusiasts. The expansive emporium is just a few minutes from 15th Street. It houses a vast collection of vintage furniture, retro décor, and antique collectibles. Overall, it’s a fun place for women who like shopping for distinctive pieces and items with character.

If shopping isn’t your draw, the food will be. Downtown is also the location of several locally owned and locally loved eateries. For a truly Texas experience, eat at the famous Lockhart’s BBQ. If you are constantly on the hunt for exceptional seafood, eat at The Urban Seafood Company.

Unwind and Rejuvenate: Visit Spa Habitat

During a girls’ trip, I always love to plan a spa visit. A weekend away with the girls is the perfect opportunity to unwind and rejuvenate at a posh spa. Fortunately, Plano has several options for those of us who love a little pampering. On our recent girls trip to Plano, my friend and I decided we would treat ourselves to an hour of relaxation.

After a very full morning of shopping in Downtown Plano and a delicious lunch at Urban Seafood Company, we headed over to Spa Habitat. A facial was the perfect way for me to unwind and recharge. After parting ways for my facial and her foot massage, we returned to each other an hour later. Reclining with a warm, weighted blanket while sipping on Jasmine tea was a nice ending to our visit.

Rent bicycles and explore the scenic Dallas North Tollway Trail that stretches nineteen miles through Plano. To experience a little adrenaline rush, go climb and zip line and Go Ape, an outdoor adventure park with a treetop ropes course.

When you want to enjoy the outdoors without exerting too much energy, visit one of the parks in Plano to relax. You can also head over to The Boardwalk at Granite Park. This district is mostly restaurants, but the boardwalk area is a great area to relax by the water in an Adirondack chair. If you’re up for some friendly competition, play a game of cornhole or ping pong on the lawn. While you’re here, grab a happy hour cocktail at Suburban Yacht Club.
