The District at The Shops at Willow Bend in Plano

A $125 million re-imagining and renovation has transformed The Shops at Willow Bend into a multi-faceted core for shopping, dining, and entertainment in Plano. In addition to Plano Children’s Theater, the Crayola Experience and Equinox, Willow Bend has opened “The District” a new restaurant area that is home to local chef-driven restaurants, second-story terraces, and a grand entrance to the property.

Restaurants at The District

The first five restaurants are now open completing a significant milestone in Willow Bend’s evolution into a phenomenal dining and entertainment destination:

Ascension Cafe

Dallas-based Australian-style coffee shop, Ascension Cafe, is a European-inspired company that offers various types of coffee, pastries and lunch options. This coffee shop and wine bar has a fun twist; stop by and show your ID to get a wristband and a glass of wine and wander the mall shopping and sipping wine.

Mexican Bar Co.

Texas-born Mexican Bar Co. offers the full scope of Mexican cuisine; handmade corn tortilla tacos, freshly prepared ceviche, guacamole, salsa, and an exceptional selection of regional dishes. James Beard featured Chef Patricio Sandoval stays true to the classic delicacies of Mexico and its legendary food markets while adding his renowned layers of flavors. Additionally, the restaurant uses a rustic wood and coal-burning grill to prepare meat, whole fish, poultry and vegetables adding a key touch of authenticity and flavor.

Knife

Knife is the highly anticipated restaurant created by nationally acclaimed, James Beard-nominated and Bravo’s “Top Chef” contestant Chef John Tesar. A reinvention of the steakhouse experience, the restaurant features all-natural born and raised Texas beef, pork and lamb in dry-aged prime cuts and specialty cuts such as chuck flap, beef tongue, and Akaushi beef.

Terra Mediterranean

From the brothers that started the popular Ali Baba Mediterranean Grill in Dallas, Terra Mediterranean originated in Fort Worth with the same carefully prepared, fresh, and delicious meals. The restaurant is known for creating authentic dishes featuring staples of the Mediterranean diet. The combination of fresh fruits and vegetables, quality meats and seafood, and authentic international ingredients create flavors that are distinctly delicious.

Whistle Britches

Serving tasty, juicy, and crunchy chicken in a variety of ways. Whistle Britches‘ pickle-brined bird, farm-fresh ingredients and soulful cooking will leave you wanting more because comfort food never goes out of style. Don’t leave without tasting their fresh buttermilk biscuits and inventive cocktails.

Açaí & Alchemy, described as a “superfood lab,” is expected to open spring 2019.
