Spring is in bloom and so is Plano’s music scene. From downtown Plano’s McCall Plaza to the Shops at Legacy, there are several amazing live music opportunities across Plano.

Live and Local at McCall Plaza: Jack Kerowax
April 15
Come visit the Downtown Plano Arts District for the free Live and Local Concerts at McCall Plaza. Bring a chair and enjoy the cool evening and amazing local talent. Jack Kerowax is a four-piece band from Dallas playing Americana, rock and country-pop with complex arrangements and delicious sound. 

Live and Local at McCall Plaza: Black Dog Friday
April 21
Another free Live and Local concert at McCall Plaza this time featuring Black Dog Friday. With bluesy strums and twangy rhythm, there is bound to be a song, style, tempo or feeling to make everyone happy. With inspirations spreading from the popular Kings of Leon, Johnny Cash, Black Crows, The Go Getters to the obscure like The White Buffalo, Kaleo, Jeff Buckley, Dave Fenley & The Good Deal.

Artfest 2017
April 22-23
Saturday’s Artfest will include a concert held on the Hub Streat Stage in McCall Plaza featuring local bands and regional headliner Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears, a band known for their garage, punk, and soul sound. For more information about Artfest, click here.

Beatles Night 2017
April 29 *Rescheduled to June 3 due to the potential for severe weather* 
Plano Stages is excited to announce this year’s annual Beatles Night at the beautiful Amphitheater at Oak Point Park! Beatles Night 2017 will feature A Hard Night’s Day as the headliner, with Revolution 9 opening. Picnic baskets, coolers, blankets, and/or lawn chairs are welcome and encouraged. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

Plano Symphony Orchestra: Grand Finale
April 29
The Plano Symphony concludes the 2016-2017 season with a newly commissioned violin concerto based on the popular songs by The Beatles and will feature American violinist, Lindsay Deutsch. With her limitless enthusiasm and vast gifts as a performer, Lindsay has emerged as a charismatic and captivating presence on today’s music scene. The season concludes with Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4, known for its rousing final movement. A grand finale!

Courtyard Texas Music Series: Zane Williams
May 4
Tickets are on sale now for May’s Courtyard Texas Music Series featuring Zane Williams at Courtyard Theater. For this Texas-born singer songwriter,”Bringin’ Country Back” is more than a catchphrase. It is a rallying cry for a return to authenticity and substance in mainstream country music, and a fitting title for his sixth studio album. For more series dates, visit our event calendar.

Friends of the Farmstead Dinner and Concert
May 5
Enjoy a dinner and concert on the historic grounds of the Heritage Farmstead Museum. Proceeds for the event support Heritage Farmstead Museum’s mission of preserving and celebrating agricultural history in North Texas.

Kevin Fowler at McCall Plaza
May 13
You’re in for a good time at McCall Plaza with Keven Fowler! Plano Stages is excited to bring you the first of two concerts in 2017 utilizing the larger side of McCall Plaza. To see Kevin Fowler in concert is more than just a show, it’s an experience. The Amarillo, Texas native’s wild-eyed charisma breathes new life into old favorites like “Beer Bait & Ammo” and “The Lord Loves A Drinkin’ Man,” his twangy vocals riding atop the honky-tonk groove of his ace backing band. Food and beverages will be available for purchase on site.

Live and Local at McCall Plaza: Jett Platt
May 19
This free Live and Local concert features Jett Platt, a Plano-born singer songwriter with an old soul that brings an enriched mature sound to his music. Songs will include originals he wrote and produced plus covers from singers like Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, James Bay, James Taylor, John Mayer, Cage of the Elephants, that contain Jett’s own spin.

Live and Local at McCall Plaza: Mark Shelton & The Greater Good
May 20
Rounding out May’s free Live and Local concerts is Mark Shelton & The Greater Good. They turn songs into experiences, adding fire, passion and emotion to their music. The trio of Matt Hinchey, Eric Grider, and Ben Wade add a whole range of dynamics that draw any listener in.

Texas’ Tribute to Elvis Festival
May 26-28
Calling all Elvis fan to Plano! Fans of the legendary Elvis Presley can get their fix of all things “King” when the Texas’ Tribute to Elvis Festival returns for a second year to Southfork Ranch. Licensed by and in partnership with Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc., the three-day festival will feature wall-to-wall performances by tribute artists and other celebrities, parties, and Texas’ only official preliminary heat for the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist contest held during Elvis Week in Memphis, Tennessee this August. The Music City Series: Linnzi Zaorski
June 3
Plano Stages is excited to announce the beginning of a new free concert series at McCall Plaza: The Music City Series. This series will bring the unique stylings of major music locations throughout the country to the heart of Downtown Plano, providing the essence of the best music locations in your own backyard. Live from NEW ORLEANS will feature Linnzi Zaorski. Linnzi is an American jazz singer and songwriter based in New Orleans, Louisiana. After performing with The New Orleans Jazz Vipers in the early 2000’s, she started her own band, Delta Royale, in 2002 and has since recorded six albums under her own name with some of the finest musicians in New Orleans. Her music has been featured in a variety of television programs and films.

Night Out on 15th
June 4
Save the date for Plano’s fine dining event of the year! Start with a pre-dinner cocktail and live music at McCall Plaza. Then take a seat at the elegant outdoor table in the middle of 15th Street amid downtown Plano’s historic architecture. Next, enjoy an amazing meal prepared by downtown Plano chefs, along with specially selected beers, wines and spirits. Proceeds help provide free community programming and benefit local non-profit organizations. Stay tuned for more information and ticket details.

Summer Concerts in the Park: Stage and Screen

Jay Dupuis as ELVIS Live in Concert
June 10
Jay Dupuis, the Ultimate Elvis World Champion is coming to Plano to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Elvis’ Madison Square Garden Concerts! Jay will take center stage as Elvis Presley for two shows at the Courtyard Theater, recreating each show from beginning to end as Elvis did on that day 45 years ago. Jay is backed up by the band Fever with the full horn section.

Jimmy Buffet and the Coral Reefer Band
June 10
Fins up, Jimmy Buffet fans! Stay in Plano and head to Frisco for this popular annual summer-opening bash! This year, they are bringing special guest ZZ TOP for a night at Toyota Stadium that’s not to be missed.

Live and Local at McCall Plaza: Valenzuela Band
June 16
The first of this month’s Live and Local concerts at McCall Plaza features the Valenzuela Band. Hailing from New Mexico, Valenzuela brings a unique blend of alt, country, and Americana that has been turning heads in Dallas as well as Nashville, and is praised for bringing a different sound to the scene.

Live and Local at McCall Plaza: Matthew Frerck
June 17
The second June Live and Local concert features Matthew Frerck, a jazz bassist from Richardson Texas. After picking up a bass guitar in 7th grade, Matthew was immediately drawn to improvised music through funk, rock, and jazz. Currently, Matthew is a student at The Oberlin Conservatory of Music studying both jazz and classical bass.
