Celebrate Steinfest 2017 in the Plano Arts District

Steinfest is back for its third year Friday, October 20 from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Saturday, October 21 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Haggard Park in the Downtown Plano Arts District. This Oktoberfest-style event is hosted by the Historic Downtown Plano Association and celebrates the finest beer, German-inspired cuisine, and the right kind of polka music to get you and your friends dancing in the street. Also, don’t miss Czech Stop kolache (yes, you heard that right!), the artist village of craftsmen and makers, a wiener dog fashion show, keg bowling, a kid’s zone, and a VIP beer garden!

Attendees can dress up their pups for the wiener dog fashion show, test their strength at keg bowling, explore vendors in the Morada Plano Marktplatz, and enjoy family-fun in the Kids Zone. The festival entertainment will include performances from groups like the Swiss Alphorn Quartet, Alpine Dancers Eidelweiss, STV Almrausch, The German Band of North Texas, Texanischer Schuhplattler Verein d’Holzar, and the Flying Balalaika Brothers. While the festival and activities are free, food and beverage tickets will be available for purchase. This year’s Steinfest beer sponsor is Karbach Brewing Company.

Czech Stop Festival Outpost Debut

The popular Texas bakery, Czech Stop, is making its festival outpost debut at Steinfest! This will be the first time in the shop’s 34 years to ever go outside West, Texas. Located off I-35, Czech Stop has been serving these treats to travelers and residents 24 hours a day, 365 days a year since it opened its’ doors in 1983. Over the years, Czech Stop has become a Texas road-trip destination and continues to be a fixture in West, a community with a proud Czech heritage. Organizers plan to sell 9,000 kolaches over the two-day event. Flavors onsite will be apricot, lemon, cherry, and pumpkin spice. We can’t wait to get our hands on a Czech Stop kolache for the first time outside of West!

Wiener Dog Fashion Show

Steinfest will be holding the annual Wiener Dog Fashion Show on Saturday, October 21 at 11 a.m. in Haggard Park. Bring your furry babies decked out in their best and both you and your dog could win prizes and treats. Entry into the fashion show is not exclusively for wiener dogs. You do not have to register to have your four-legged friend included in the fashion show, but it is encouraged.

Stein Racing Contest
