Every year, the Cardinal Women’s Auxiliary (CWA) hosts the Christmas Bazaar at John Paul II High School. This event raises funds to support JPII and their students. Plano Holiday Market at Carpenter Park Recreation Center is a fun and free event that showcases handmade holiday gifts. Exhibitors have jewelry, handmade wood items, candles and soaps. There will also be a wonderful selection of tamales, brownies, cupcakes, jams, nuts and dips or gifts for holiday parties. In addition, Collin County seniors will stock the Hip Hip for Gray booth with a variety of crafts including quilts, baby items, ornaments, and more!

Chamberlain Ballet Presents The Nutcracker

Chamberlain Ballet began staging The Nutcracker in 1989. Through out the years, this holiday tradition has grown to become a favorite for thousands of North Texas families. Join Chamberlain Ballet this Thanksgiving Weekend for our new presentation of The Nutcracker. New choreography and exciting changed throughout the performance.

Festive Legends: Holidays Around the World

Jumpstart your holiday season with the Plano Symphony strings! Dancers from Pure Movement Dance in Allen will help the PSO travel around the world in 45-minutes of holiday carols, traditions, dances, and fun! This interactive program invites kids to be part of the action on stage and culminates in a Christmas sing-a-long for the whole family. Arrive early to earn a Plano Symphony fun patch and try out instruments at the Instrument Petting Zoo in the lobby one hour prior to the concert.

Deerfield Holiday Lights

The spectacular Deerfield Holiday Lights display runs December 1-30 from 7 p.m.-10 p.m. on weekdays and 7 p.m.-11 p.m. on weekends. This is no ordinary neighborhood with holiday lights! People come from all over north Texas to see the dancing Santa’s, millions of twinkling lights, and larger than life displays. Deerfield Holiday Lights brings on the ultimate holiday cheer!

Stations of the Nativity

December 1-31
For those wanting to take a deeper dive into the season of Advent, visit the outdoor Stations of the Nativity at St. Andrew Methodist Church from dawn to dusk, through a podcast available with a QR code. Beginning near the Hasley Chapel, experience the story of Jesus’ birth via audio-guided message as you journey to stations around the scenic creek and pond. With music and spiritual meditations, this inspirational experience allows participants to experience the story alongside the original witnesses of Jesus’ birth.

Fa La La La Follies

December 4-6
The holiday season is here and what better way to get into the holiday spirit than watching the Spectacular Follies as they sing and dance to your favorite holiday tunes! You’ll hear standards that you know and love – they’ll make you want to sing along! Maybe you’ll hear some songs that are new to you. You’ll be tapping your toes along with Class Act Tap Company and Dallas Tap Dazzlers. Performing since 2008, the Spectacular Follies is again gearing up for opening night and this year’s show is chock-full of Ziegfeld-style glamour, talent and some big-time performers – all 55 or older.

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever

The NTPA presents The Best Christmas Pageant Ever December 5-8 at the Willow Bend Center for the Arts, Brodie Copeland Theatre. In this hilarious musical rendition of a Christmas classic, a couple struggling to put on a church Christmas pageant is faced with casting the Herdman kids–probably the most inventively awful kids in history. You won’t believe the mayhem – and the fun – when the Herdmans collide with the Christmas story head-on!

Behold the Lamb of God Concert

December 5
Join storied Nashville singer-songwriter and author Andrew Peterson as he presents the Advent song cycle Behold the Lamb of God: The True Tall Tale of the Coming of Christ at St. Andrew Methodist Church. Now in the tour’s 25th year, Behold the Lamb will feature guest artists Jess Ray, The Arcadian Wild, Andy Gullahorn, Jill Phillips, Andrew Osenga, and Skye Peterson along with an all-star cast of Nashville songwriters and session musicians. The concert brings the singing and playing of Peterson’s original folk-roots infused rendition of the Christmas story as it is foreshadowed in the Old Testament and brought to bear in the New.

Jones, First-Grader, is super-excited about the upcoming Holiday Sing-Along and Secret Santa gift exchange at her school. Too bad tattletale May keeps ruining all of Junie B.’s fun. So when Junie B. draws May’s name for Secret Santa, she comes up with the perfect plan to teach her nemesis a lesson! But will the Christmas spirit of peace and goodwill interfere before she can give you-know-who what she deserves? A Season to Shine

The Gift of Christmas

The Gift of Christmas is a Prestonwood tradition and has become one of the highlights of the Christmas season, with thousands of guests attending every year. This visually stunning multimedia event is complete with special effects, a nearly 1,000-member cast and choir, live orchestra, flying angels and much more. The program will keep you fully engaged for a powerful 100 minutes, the perfect length for every family member to enjoy. It is complete with all your Christmas favorites, including the beautiful Living Nativity. Featuring camels and kings, flying angels and eye-popping virtual scenery, the Christmas story comes to life in a breathtaking way. A bold lighting and scenic design gives a unique look to inspire and engage the audience, enhancing the message of The Greatest Story Ever Told! The scenic pieces, costumes and choreography are highlighted by a brilliant, original musical score, arranged and orchestrated just for Prestonwood and this special event.

A Tuna Christmas

December 6-22
A Tuna Christmas is the second in a series of comedic plays (preceded by Greater Tuna and followed by Red, White and Tuna and Tuna Does Vegas), each set in the fictional town of Tuna, Texas, the “third-smallest” town in the state. The trilogy was written by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears, and Ed Howard. The plays are at once an affectionate comment on small-town, Southern life and attitudes but also a withering satire of same. The plays are notable in that two men play the entire cast of over twenty eccentric characters of multiple genders and various ages. The first play, Greater Tuna, debuted in 1981 in Austin; A Tuna Christmas debuted in 1989 with touring ending in 2012 after Sears’ retirement from the troupe. Some material may be inappropriate for children under 13. Parents are urged to be cautious.

A Very 80s Christmas 80s Mistape at Legacy Hall

Dickens in Downtown Plano

December 7
Kick off the season with Dickens, a FREE annual event in the heart of the Historic Downtown Plano Arts District from 4pm – 9pm. Bring the whole family for Plano’s annual celebration with a tree lighting festival with vendors, a snow globe, and activities for the whole family. The downtown businesses will stay open late so guests can enjoy food and shopping. The event is located in Haggard Park, McCall Plaza and on a limited section of 15th Street in Downtown Plano. Free parking is available at the Plano Municipal Center (1520 K Avenue) and public lots off 14th Street.

Christmas Festival at St. Andrew Church

December 8
The annual Christmas Festival will kick off holiday events at St. Andrew on Sunday, Dec. 8 in the sanctuary with two identical performances at 9:30 and 11 a.m. The Christmas Festival features a full professional orchestra, brilliant arrangements of favorite carols, and new music by Taylor Scott Davis, St. Andrew’s creative director of traditional worship and music. Before and after the performances, Santa and his reindeer will be outside for a photo opportunity in his sleigh – complete with falling snow! There is no cost.

A Night in Bethlehem

December 8
All are invited to kick off the holiday season at the St. Andrew All-Church Advent Celebration, featuring “A Night in Bethlehem”!! There will be Christmas fun for all ages at this festive churchwide event.

  • Hear the joyous sounds of the Children’s choir and be transported back in time to the town of Bethlehem to celebrate the birth of Jesus at A Night in Bethlehem, hosted by Children’s Ministry.
  • Play in the snow, sip cocoa, ride the Christmas train, tube down the snow luge, and MORE!

Bring the kiddos during holiday break & join us for a fun morning exploring the outdoors, while discovering the imagination, career explorations and using chalk to write ideas.

Santa’s Sleighin’ Holiday Event at The Boardwalk

December 14
Local small businesses will participate in a holiday market from 11am-4pm. From 12-3 p.m., Santa will be at The Boardwalk at a photo kiosk with his elves creating balloon shapes. Attendees can enjoy upbeat holiday tunes spun by DJ Kiks throughout the event and see Frosty the Snowman strolling and dancing along The Boardwalk. Other activities include a hot chocolate bar and a snowflake craft for kids.

Moonlight Movie Night: How The Grinch Stole Christmas

It’s a Moonlight Movie Night under the stars with The Grinch at Assembly Park! Bundle up, bring your cocoa, and settle in as we watch a certain green grouch’s heart grow three sizes in one night.

Reindeer Run Club at Legacy West: Holiday Bash

Join Legacy West for the first ever Reindeer Run Club Holiday Bash! Run or walk 3 miles/5K starting at Nike dressed in your best holiday outfits. All levels are encouraged to participate in this complimentary club. Starting at Nike in Legacy West, the group will follow a predetermined 3 mile map back to the seasonal activation space for a post run celebration. Enjoy awards and a trucker hat bar.

Mistletoe Market in Downtown Plano

Stuff your stockings at the Mistletoe Market in Downtown Plano. From 12-4pm, the shops in the historic Downtown Plano Arts District will host a festive afternoon of special activities and offers to help you cross those last-minute items off your holiday shopping list. You may even snag some pics with an especially “grinchy” and green visitor we’ve seen trying to steal presents around Downtown. There will also be an Artisan Village in McCall Plaza featuring handcrafted gifts from local makers.

Epic Unplugged Presents: An Epic Christmas

Enjoy epic rock songs and holiday classics expertly performed by a full band, accompanied by a string section at Legacy Hall. Inspired by MTV Unplugged, Epic Unplugged is an unforgettable, all-live concert experience. Fans of all ages and backgrounds will sing along to iconic rock hits from Queen, Pink Floyd, The Killers, Muse, and Nirvana. Arrive early with friends and enjoy dinner from nearly 20 eateries, along with craft cocktails from 5+ bars. Courtyard Theater Series kicks off the new season with A Christmas Carol, the Musical. A Christmas Carol, the Musical is a spectacular adaptation of Charles Dickens’ most well-known story by Broadway heavy hitters, Alan Menken (Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Little Shop of Horrors) and Lynn Ahrens (Ragtime, Seussical, Once on This Island). Ebenezer Scrooge believes that personal wealth is far more valuable than the happiness and comfort of others. With an infuriated “Bah! Humbug!” Scrooge is forced to face his selfish ways on Christmas Eve when three ghosts visit to lead him through his Past, Present and Future. Performed by the award-winning REP Company.

Home for the Holidays

The seasonal favorite “Home for the Holidays” concert features holiday favorites for orchestra and chorus, the popular audience sing-along, visitors from the North Pole, and more! Joining the PSO will be the Plano West Chorale. The award-winning Plano West Chorale is devoted to cultivating the art of choral music in the lives of its students and in the broader community; teaching techniques of musical expression; and providing a sequential developmental music curriculum that allows each student an opportunity to build musical skills and understanding through a wide variety of quality musical experiences.
