Fourth of July Events
On Sunday, July 3rd get in the Fourth of July spirit at Patriotic Pops presented by the Plano Community Band at Haggard Park in the Downtown Plano Arts District for free! This performance will feature Americana and patriotic music. Bring your lawn chair, blanket, and picnic and enjoy an evening of live music and good company.
On Monday, July 4th kick-off your day at the 37th annual Plano Early Lions Club Independence Day Parade. The parade starts at 9 a.m. from the Plano ISD Administration Building at 2700 W. 15th Street then heads north on Independence Parkway to Plano Senior High School. Line the streets with the kids and watch them smile at all the amazing patriotic floats.
Swim across Texas at The Texas Pool from noon to 6 p.m. Members and veterans (with valid ID) get in free; everyone else is just $7.50 per person and children aged 2 and under are free. The snack bar will be open and the grills fired up. Kids and adults alike can enjoy traditional water games like Marco Polo and a cannonball contest. Lifeguards will be on duty and picnic areas are available to enjoy your own Fourth of July picnic (food and coolers with non-alcoholic beverages are allowed).
Then comes what all kids are waiting for… Plano’s All-American Fourth firework show at Oak Point Park & Nature Preserve! Bring your blankets, lawn chairs and the whole family to watch the spectacular fireworks choreographed to music and simulcast on 97.5 KLAK. Admission and parking are free.
