The holiday season is knocking on our doorsteps! From Broadway-esque holiday performances and shopping events to famous holiday light displays, Plano has amazing events of all kinds to celebrate the season. Get your tickets and fill up your calendar, because holiday cheer is all around in Plano, TX!

Plano Holiday Events

Snowflake Bazaar

November 11-12
Plano West Senior High School’s Snowflake Bazaar promises to be a winter wonderland, bustling with vendors offering unique gifts, crafts, and delicious treats. Discover one-of-a-kind treasures while supporting local artisans and small businesses. Whether you’re searching for the perfect holiday present or simply want to indulge in some retail therapy, the Snowflake Bazaar has something for everyone. Aside from shopping, there will be live entertainment, including our band members playing holiday tunes. Bring your family and friends along to the Snowflake Bazaar, the perfect opportunity to kickstart your holiday season and find unique gifts to spread happiness to your loved ones. Admission is FREE and open to the public.

Snow Queen Ballet

November 11 – November 12
Studio 3 Dance proudly presents it biennial showcase of the Snow Queen Ballet. The ballet, based on Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale of the same name, tells the story of undying friendship between childhood friends through beautiful dance and costumes. More than 60 Studio 3 dancers, ages 3 through 17 will take the stage at the Eisemann Center for Performing Arts. Tickets start at $20.

Photos with Santa at The Shops at Willow Bend

November 16 – December 24
Santa is coming to the lower level in Macy’s Court at The Shops at Willow Bend this holiday season. Reservations are recommended, but not required.

It’s a Wonderful Life – Deaf Theatre

November 17-19
This beloved American holiday classic comes to captivating life as a live 1940s radio broadcast. With the help of an ensemble that brings a few dozen characters to the stage, the story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds as he considers ending his life one fateful Christmas Eve. This show is adapted for actors who are deaf or hard of hearing. Both deaf and hearing actors are needed and encouraged to join us for these upcoming programs with an innovative method of combining language to tell stories on stage. Deaf and hearing actors will work together to portray characters in the production with a performance that will be enjoyed by deaf and hearing audiences alike.

Saturday Flurries at The District

November 18
Discover the perfect holiday gifts from a variety of Holiday vendors onsite while sipping hot coco and enjoying your favorite holiday tunes at The District at The Shops at Willow Bend. Friends and family alike can enjoy all the holiday festivities from North Texas Performing Arts Scrooge Musical Performance, Christmas Carolers, Holiday Face Painting, Elf Stilt Walkers, to an interactive photo experience with a REAL reindeer- Blitzen. Kids can also enjoy a Letters to Santa Station to send Santa their holiday wishes! Once done, Santa himself, will make a surprise visit at the District to pick up all of the letters, as well as spread Christmas cheer to all. Afterwards, bundle up and join us for a special outdoor movie experience screening The Grinch.

Plano Holiday Market

November 18-19
Plano Holiday Market at Carpenter Park Recreation Center is a fun and free event that showcases handmade holiday gift items made of fabric, wood, ceramic, and glass. Other exhibitors have jewelry and clothing for adults and children, along with candles and soaps. There will also be a wonderful selection of salsas, jams, nuts, and dips for gifts or holiday parties. In addition, Collin County seniors will stock the Hip Hip for Gray booth with a variety of crafts including quilts, baby items, ornaments, and more.

Lights at Legacy

November 19
Enjoy complimentary train rides, balloon artists, toy soldier stilt walkers, little drummer boys, inflatable fun, live entertainment and more! Complimentary food and drink samples from The Shops at Legacy retailers and restaurants will also be available. Photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available for only $30, with 50% of the proceeds benefiting My Possibilities.

The Nutcracker

November 24-26
Prepare to be transported to a realm of enchantment as Chamberlain Ballet proudly presents their annual production of The Nutcracker at the Eisemann Center for Performing Arts. This year, we are honored to welcome the renowned guest artists, Tiler Peck and Roman Mejia, from The New York City Ballet as The Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier. As the curtains rise, immerse yourself in a world of waltzing snowflakes, marching toy soldiers, and the timeless tale of Clara and her Nutcracker Prince. With exquisite choreography and the iconic Tchaikovsky score, our production promises to be a breathtaking spectacle of seasonal magic.

Lights on the Farm

November 24 – December 30 (select days)
Step into a world of enchantment at Lights on the Farm! Join us for a delightful winter wonderland experience as the historic farmstead is transformed into a twinkling wonderland featuring close to two million holiday lights and animated displays. Take a leisurely stroll along the quarter-mile trail and marvel at the stunning holiday light creations. Be amazed by the 20-foot Christmas tree and enjoy popcorn, mini-donuts, hot cocoa, and make-your-own s’mores. And for the little ones, don’t miss the chance to meet Santa Claus! Come and create unforgettable memories with your loved ones at Lights on the Farm.

Small Business Saturday

We’re helping you finish your holiday shopping with Small Business Saturday. The Downtown Plano Arts District is an historic, vibrant community of performing arts, galleries, event venues, unique shops and restaurants – and many of them are locally owned. Every time you buy something from a small business, a real person does a happy dance! Make & Take: Decorate a Gingerbread House

November 26
This holiday tradition means fun for everyone, young and old alike. An authentic Swiss Lebkuchen (gingerbread) house, lots of royal icing and mountains of candy and edible decorations will be ready and waiting; just bring your imagination and creativity. A box will be provided for you to transport your masterpiece home. Due to limited space, paid registration for the class is limited to one person/one house or two people/one house. This all ages event requires a ticket for each attendee.

Deerfield Holiday Lights

December 1-30
The spectacular Deerfield Holiday Lights display runs December 1-30 from 7 p.m.-10 p.m. on weekdays and 7 p.m.-11 p.m. on weekends. This is no ordinary neighborhood with holiday lights! People come from all over north Texas to see the dancing Santa’s, millions of twinkling lights, and larger than life displays. Deerfield Holiday Lights brings on the ultimate holiday cheer!

The Gift of Christmas

The Gift of Christmas is a Prestonwood tradition and has become one of the highlights of the Christmas season, with thousands of guests attending every year. This visually stunning multimedia event is complete with special effects, a nearly 1,000-member cast and choir, live orchestra, flying angels and much more. The program will keep you fully engaged for a powerful 100 minutes, the perfect length for every family member to enjoy. It is complete with all your Christmas favorites, including the beautiful Living Nativity. Featuring camels and kings, flying angels and eye-popping virtual scenery, the Christmas story comes to life in a breathtaking way. A bold lighting and scenic design gives a unique look to inspire and engage the audience, enhancing the message of The Greatest Story Ever Told! The scenic pieces, costumes and choreography are highlighted by a brilliant, original musical score, arranged and orchestrated just for Prestonwood and this special event.

Bubbles + Baubles: Decorate Ornaments

Come and get in the holiday spirit at our December Bubbles and Baubles FREE event happening at the Rebel Athletic Store inside of The Shops at Willow Bend! Come and decorate your own ornament. There will be complementary drinks for adults.

Elf, The Musical

December 1-9 (dates & times vary)
Buddy, a young orphan, mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. The would-be elf is raised, unaware that he is actually a human until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa’s permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Faced with the harsh realities that his father is on the naughty list and his half-brother doesn’t even believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas.

This modern-day holiday classic is sure to make everyone embrace their inner elf. After all, the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.

White Christmas

December 1-17
Veterans Bob Wallace and Phil Davis have a successful song-and-dance act after World War II. With romance in mind, the two follow a duo of beautiful singing sisters en route to their Christmas show at a Vermont lodge, which just happens to be owned by Bob and Phil’s former army commander. With a dazzling score featuring well-known standards including “Blue Skies,” “I Love A Piano,” “How Deep Is the Ocean” and the perennial title song, White Christmas is an uplifting, wholesome musical that will delight audiences of all ages.

A Christmas Story

Art Centre Theatre presents A Christmas Story this holiday season. Based on the humorous writings of author Jean Shepherd, this beloved holiday classic follows the wintry exploits of youngster Ralphie Parker, who spends most of his time dodging a bully and dreaming of his ideal Christmas gift, a “Red Ryder air rifle.” Frequently at odds with his cranky dad but comforted by his doting mother, Ralphie struggles to make it to Christmas Day with his glasses and his hopes intact.

Plano Holiday Parade

December 2
Get ready to kick off the holiday season with a BANG! Join the Rotary Clubs of Plano for the Plano Holiday Parade in downtown Plano at 2pm. This year’s parade theme is Marches of Toys.

‘Tis the season: Plano Civic Chorus

December 2
Join Plano Civic Chorus for their annual ‘Tis The Season holiday concerts featuring Robert Young’s “He Comes at Christmastide” with string orchestra and “Three Mystical Carols” with organ by Conrad Susa. The 4pm concert will be family-focused and will feature an audience sing-along and a special visitor from the North Pole. The 7:30pm concert will be a more traditional holiday choral concert with a candlelight processional and recessional and will feature the Varsity A Cappella Choir from Wylie High School.

Dickens in Downtown Plano

December 2
Kick off the season with Dickens, a FREE annual event in the heart of the Historic Downtown Plano Arts District from 4pm – 9pm. Bring the whole family for our annual celebration which includes photos with Santa, a snow slide, the Coffee and Cocoa Walk, the Childrens Entrepreneur Market, and a traditional tree lighting with the Plano mayor and city VIPs. The downtown businesses will stay open late so guests can enjoy food and shopping. The event is located in Haggard Park, McCall Plaza and on a limited section of 15th Street in Downtown Plano. Free parking is available at the Plano Municipal Center (1520 K Avenue) and public lots off 14th Street.

Naughty or Nice Bar Crawl at Legacy West

Nothing screams holiday cheer, more than the Naughty and Nice Bar Crawl, one of the best days of the year! Dust off your ugly sweaters, tacky Christmas gear, and Santa suits, and get ready to deck the halls for our most epic and biggest bar crawl. Tickets are $20 per person 21+.

Stations of the Nativity

St. Andrew Methodist Church invites you to an interactive experience unlike any other in North Texas: The Stations of the Nativity! Experience the story of Jesus’ birth as you traverse through our beautiful campus while listening to an inspiring audio-guided message. Including music and scriptural meditations, this experience will put you in the story alongside the original witnesses of the birth and leave you ready to celebrate the greatest promise ever made.

Scrooge, The Musical

December 6-10 & 13-17
This North Texas Christmas tradition, in its 13th, year features a fast-paced and fun full-length live musical production, pre-show Christmas carols, and more. The cast features Plano resident Darrell Rodenbaugh in a reprise in his 13th year and 112th appearance as North Texas’s Scrooge. “It is such an honor to come back to this role with this amazing cast. I am energized by Scrooge’s very special message of rebirth and redemption and the powerful message it shares,” explains Rodenbaugh. “Scrooge teaches us that we have the opportunity to start our lives all over again and change for the better, and gives us our second greatest Christmas story.”

The cast also includes Plano City Councilman Shelby Williams and 2022 “Best of Broadway Supporting Actor of the Year” Tom Walsh. Local talent Sawyer Bell returns to the cast this year playing the role of “Young Scrooge.” He originally portrayed “Tiny Tim” in this same series a decade ago! Scrooge continues to be a family tradition for Plano, and this year half of the cast are performing alongside other members of their family. The diverse cast includes four young Tiny Tim actors, four representatives from NTPA’s Starcatchers troupe for actors with disabilities, and NTPA Deaf Theatre star and Plano community leader Meryl Evans. The cast also includes two Plano Chamber of Commerce Athena Award recipients, Sara Akers and Suzie Jones. Over two-thirds of this year’s cast are prior NTPA “Scroogers.”

Sharing cookies with friends, family, and co-workers is a holiday tradition that we support. Join in the fun! At this Central Market class, participants will be divided into small teams and given three of the nine recipes listed below to make and bake. At the end of class, everyone will share the results of their efforts and you’ll leave with a selection that includes some of each of the cookies listed. Tickets are $75.

Happy Hour Hike

December 7
C’mon, get happy with Legacy West and Plano Magazine at the Happy Hour Hike, a monthly sip-and-shop event where guests enjoy wine, beer and cocktails while discovering new shops, restaurants and experiences throughout the Legacy West neighborhood. There will also be photo-ops, featured local artisans and non-profits, and a chance to win a $300 gift basket to your favorite store!

Menorah Lighting at The Shops at Willow Bend

Chabad of Plano/Collin County presents a Chanukah Celebration at The Shops at Willow Bend in The District. Chanukah is the Jewish eight-day, wintertime “festival of lights, ” celebrated with a nightly menorah lighting, special prayers and fried foods. The Hebrew word Chanukah means “dedication, ” and is thus named because it celebrates the rededication of the Holy Temple. Chanukah begins on the eve of Kislev 25 and continues for eight days.

Behold the Lamb of God Tour by Andrew Peterson

Join Nashville singer-songwriter and author Andrew Peterson as he and several talented artists take you on a journey at St. Andrew Methodist Church. This concert will bring original folk-roots infused renditions of the Christmas story as it is foreshadowed in the Old Testament and brought to bear in the new.  

Breakfast with Santa at Carpenter Park Rec Center

December 9
Santa is making a special trip to Carpenter Park Recreation Center to eat breakfast with you and your family. While enjoying donuts and hot cocoa, create your own Santa wish list and holiday crafts. Little ones can enjoy some one on one time with Santa and create their own souvenir photo.

The Down Syndrome Guild: Breakfast with Santa

December 9
The Down Syndrome Guild invites families of children with down syndrome ages 0-12 to join us for everyone’s favorite holiday activities at The Nature & Retreat Center. This year, families will have the opportunity to enjoy a light breakfast, create a craft, stir up their own hot chocolate and more. And of course the whole family will be able to take a picture with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Space is limited and registration is required. Registration closes Sunday, December 3, 2023 (or until event fills up).

Holiday Fun & Giving Event

Preston Village Shopping Center invites you to a day of family fun and giving. Join us for visits with Santa, face painting, balloon art, crafts, and prizes for kids. Please bring an unwrapped gift benefiting Children’s Health Plano. Through the Eyes of a Child

This concert is a collaborative effort and will also feature special performances by young performers from:  The Plano Symphony Orchestra, Plano Metropolitan Ballet, North Texas Performing Arts, Chamberlain Ballet, and the Plano International Festival. Susy Jones, The ArtCentre of Plano, Plano Art Association, Young Artists, and Amy Pagan Art are donating Christmas ornaments painted by children, to dress a Holiday Tree in the foyer. The ornaments will then be for sale to the audience afterwards.  

Dark Winter Market

Santa’ Workshop is excited to announce a new location this year at Heritage Farmstead Museum! This family-friendly event spreads joy and holiday cheer to our community and benefits the patients and families served by Children’s Medical Center Plano. Make & Take: Tamales

Is buying tamalas a part of your holiday tradition? Learn how to make them at home! Central Market will show you how to make a light and fluffy masa; provide guidance and options so that you can assemble fillings to your taste; and include steaming and serving suggestions. You’ll make 12 tamales and take them with you at the end of class. Tickets are $75.

Hanukkah Lights on the Farm

Join us for our 2nd Annual Hanukkah Lights on the Farm, to enjoy Menorah lighting, sufganiyot, gelt, hot cocoa, and fun camaraderie. Members of the Jewish community of the greater Plano area are invited to Hanukkah Lights on the Farm, a special event at Plano’s own Heritage Farmstead Museum, 1900 West 15th Street, at 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on December 12, the sixth night of Hanukkah. The event will feature a Menorah Lighting along with jelly doughnuts and other kosher treats, Dreidel spinning contests, and other fun activities for all ages.

Beloved classic comes to The Courtyard Theater this holiday season. This heartwarming musical adaptation features the book by David Ives and Paul Blake and seventeen Irving Berlin songs including “Blue Skies,” “Sisters,” “Count Your Blessings,” and the perennial favorite, “White Christmas.” Tickets are $35.

Listen & Learn Holiday Concert

December 15
Join a trio from the Plano Symphony Orchestra for a little holiday cheer! This 45-minute performance features traditional Christmas carols, excerpts from the Nutcracker, and a little music history! We will also enjoy a visit from special guests to bring these holiday favorites to life. We will culminate in a sing-a-long to get you in the spirit this holiday season! Tickets are $12 general admission.

An Epic Christmas at Legacy Hall Box Garden

Enjoy epic rock songs and holiday classics expertly performed by a full band accompanied by a string section. Inspired by MTV Unplugged, Epic Unplugged is an unforgettable, all-live concert experience. Fans of all ages and backgrounds will sing along to epic rock from Queen, Pink Floyd, The Killers, Muse, and Nirvana.

Frosty Friday at McCall Plaza

December 15
Come get cozy with us at Frosty Friday, a free, family-friendly winter celebration in Downtown Plano. On December 15, come to McCall Plaza where we’ll have free viewings on the big screen of two Rankin/Bass holiday classic films, “Rudolph and Frosty’s Christmas in July” and “Frosty’s Winter Wonderland” (rated G). We’ll be serving free hot cocoa and coffee from 1418 Coffee for guests, and adults may purchase holiday cocktails from Fillmore Pub. Attendees can also take pics inside the giant snow globe photo op. Don your most festive apparel for our Ugly Sweater Contest; prizes will be awarded, and entry into the contest is free. Don’t forget to bring your folding chairs, blankets and mittens to the frosty festivities!

Holiday Pub Crawl

Breakfast with Santa Toy Drive

Come see Santa and have breakfast at the Ye Ole Butcher Shop in Downtown Plano. Yummy pancakes, brisket on a biscuit, and more will be available (7am-10:30am). Christmas Watercolor Workshop

The Grinch Stole the Holidays

The Grinch stole Downtown Plano’s holiday ornaments, and we need you to get them back! Find one of our limited-edition #LovePlano ornaments on Dec. 16, and you get to take it home. Ornaments will be hidden in Downtown Plano shops and restaurants on Saturday, Dec. 16 beginning at 10am. Lots of ornaments will be hidden, so there is a great chance that if you come downtown that day, you’ll find one! We hope you’ll stick around for some holiday shopping or to grab lunch or drinks. Clues will be posted on Downtown Plano social media, as well as the Facebook and Instagram channels of some of the businesses in the neighborhood. All of the ornaments will be hidden between 14th and 15th Streets, from G Avenue to Municipal Avenue. Please claim only one ornament per family.

Santa’s Sleighin’ Holiday Event and Market

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., dive into the holiday spirit and support local small businesses with our holiday market. But the real magic happens from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. when our festive extravaganza kicks into high gear. Santa will be ready on the pavilion across the lake at our photo kiosk. His elves will be there to create your favorite balloon shapes and spread holiday cheer. It’s the perfect opportunity to make those Christmas wishes and snap a pic with the big man himself.

Move to the upbeat tunes spun by DJ Kelly Hooper, joined by the incredible electric violinist, Shondalla Calder.
