Since opening into 2017 next to The Shops at LegacyPlano’s Legacy West mixed-use development has emerged as the city’s liveliest live-work-play area. Legacy West is home to big corporations like Toyota, JCPenny, JPMorgan Chase, FedEx, and other companies, drawing droves of employees and out-of-town clients who stay in the development’s hotels. But the area is drawing visitors and residents alike for what it offers outside business hours, including a food hall and a live music venue. Learn all about what a night out at the Shops at Legacy and Legacy West can entail.

Shop ‘Til You Drop

Evening shopping is the best, especially in Texas when elevated temperatures make it too hot to shop during the day. At the Shops at Legacy and Legacy West are home to a wide range of stores from big national brands like Urban Outfitters, Madewell, West Elm, and Levi’s to boutiques like Ella Blue, Kendra Scott, Circa 2000, and Joni’s Boutique, as well as home and tech stores like Tesla and West Elm. Most shops close by 8 p.m. which allows for enough time to grab a meal and a drink.

Pamper Yourself

Get a manicure and pedicure at Venetian Nail Spa. Get eyelash extensions at Lash Lounge or a massage at Spa Habitat, an organic spa and apothecary. Men can also get pampered, too, at the Boardroom Salon for Men or Razor’s Edge. Many of the spas, nail salons, or other pampering services stay open until 8 p.m.

Chow Down

The food scene is diverse, so you can enjoy a fine seafood dinner at The Keeper* or a Tex-Mex dish at Mexican SugarLegacy Food Hall allows for a laid-back dining experience for couples, families, or solo travelers. With 24 food stalls that serve everything from barbecue to sushi, salads, and Peruvian chicken, there’s plenty to choose from. There’s also Asian fusion at OMA or tapas at Bulla Gastrobar. There’s even Tommy Bahama Restaurant & Bar right next to their store. * The Keeper has sine closed.

Catch a Concert

There’s always music to be heard in Plano, especially at the Shops at Legacy and Legacy West. For one, the Shops at Legacy has a Summer Live Series where musicians provide sweet tunes to those sitting on restaurant patios or strolling through the shops. The Box Garden in Legacy Hall can hold up to 1,500 people who want an up-close view of bands playing on the main stage. Blue Martini has live music every night of the week, while The Ginger ManScruffy Duffies, and The Renaissance Plano West all have live music occasionally.

Have a Movie Night

Ponder the intricacies of cinema at Angelika Film Center & Cafe, a specialty theater that screens independent films. This boutique cinema is chic and classy, offering films on five screens, as well as a cafe and bar on the second floor with gourmet fare and alcoholic drinks that you can bring into the theater. Keep your eye out for events like sing alongs, art films, or other events spotlighting leading ladies, Hitchcock movies, or anime.

Dance and Drink

Plano may not be widely known as a nightlife destination, but the Shops at Legacy and Legacy West do offer some fun nightly entertainment for adults. Blue Martini is a happening bar with DJs, bands, and a lively atmosphere. You’ll find a similar experience at Sambuca 360. For a night out at the club, VNYL is where you should be. It’s only open Thursdays through Saturdays but features bottle service and upbeat music by DJs. The Ginger ManScruffy Duffies, and Ringo’s Pub are better suited for those who love bars and beer.
