10+ Plano Events to Attend this Spring 2022

Spring time brings tons of of amazing events to Plano. With warmer weather and sunny days ahead, here are 10+ events in Plano this spring that you should add to your bucket list.

1. Spring Break at Legacy hall

Legacy Hall is putting on a fantastic TWO WEEK spring break event series. Check up the line-up below. Don’t forget to stop by the Legacy West Kids Club afterwards!

2. Texas Forever Fest

Celebrate the food, art and people of our great state at Texas Forever Fest, a family-friendly party as big as Texas! Join us in Haggard Park in the heart of Downtown Plano, Saturday, March 26 from 11:00 am to 6 pm. Musical performances by Roger Creager, Hayden Haddock, The Tejas Brothers, Walt Wilkins, George Dunham with Pat Green, and Texas Flood. Sample Texas beer and spirits at the Spirits of Texas Tasting, located in the historic Saigling House on the edge of Haggard Park. This free event is sponsored by H-E-B and will showcase live Western entertainment, Texas-themed food and beverage, curated Texas-themed vendors, and a Plano Rotary BBQ cook-off.

3. Celebrate St. patrick’s day

Enjoy Green Beer Happy Hour and listen to The Rich Girls, an 80’s party band, on Thursday, March 17 at Legacy Hall in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day.

The Fillmore Pub’s St. Patty’s Day Bash on March 12 in Downtown Plano is getting an upgrade! They’re taking over McCall Plaza and15th Street from the DART tracks up to Ave K. They have 5 bands lined up as well as several different vendors up and down 15th street. The Fillmore Pub’s doors open at 10 a.m., 15th street festivities kick off at 10 a.m. and music starts at 1 p.m.!

The Shamrock Beer Walk also in downtown will be going on from 12 p.m. to 6 pm. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased here. This is a sip and shop event where participants get to sample selected beers at their favorite shops in Downtown Plano while enjoying live music and special discounts. Each person that attends the beer walk gets a tasting glass, along with a passport and a beer tasting guide.

Or join the St. Patrick’s Block Party at Ringo’s Pub at The Shops at Legacy from noon to 10 p.m.

4. Live music at legacy hall

Legacy Hall has a fun music line-up this spring! With patio weather back in season, make plans to attend your favorite band this spring.

5. EASTER EGG HOUND HUNT

On April 16 from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. at Oak Point Park & Nature Preserve, bring #PlanoPup for the famous Easter Egg Hound Hunt! Owners will have great fun as dogs enjoy sniffing out doggie-treat filled Easter eggs. Will your dog find one of the golden eggs and win a special prize?

6. Flower power street fair & outdoor market

On March 26 from 12 p.m. – 5 p.m., join The Shops at Legacy North for their inaugural Flower Power Street Fair & Outdoor Market! They’ll have 40+ vendors selling everything from clothing to candles to flowers and more. They’ll also have flower power photo opportunities, live music, and specials from their on-site restaurants.

7. retro expo

Retro Expo returns to the Plano Event Center Friday and Saturday, March 18 & 19 for another round of retro fun, featuring 35,000 sq. ft. of both local and out-of-town dealers selling vintage toys, comic books, video games, VHS tapes, vinyl records, action figures, autographs, Pokemon, t-shirts, art, horror memorabilia and much more! Special celebrity guests include Jason David Frank from the Power Rangers, Back to the Future stars Claudia Wells, Harry Waters Jr., Donald Fulilove AND Land of the Lost stars Wesley Eure and Kathy Coleman.

8. Third Monday trade days

The three-day shopping extravaganza occurs the weekend prior to the third Monday of each month, bringing together more than 200 vendors selling antiques, furniture, clothing, jewelry, home décor and accessories, food, beverages and more. Entry to the event is free and there is a parking fee of $10 per car on Saturdays and Sundays (free parking on Fridays). The event is held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Southfork Ranch’s Lone Star Atrium at 3700 Hogge Drive in Parker, TX, just down the road from Plano.

9. Sip & Shop Downtown Plano

Join Downtown Plano retailers every Third Thursday from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. for a free Sip and Shop event featuring Lyla’s: Clothing, Decor & More, Sweet Home Bath & Body (inside Lyla’s), The Feathered Nest, and Furbabies Bakery.

10. family friendly magic show

Check out Plano House of Comedy at The Shops at Legacy on March 27 for a family friendly magic show featuring The Magic Man and The Amazing Grandpadini. Admission is $15 and there is a two-item purchase minimum per person.

11. Happy Hour Hikes

C’mon, get happy with Legacy West and Plano Magazine at the Happy Hour Hike, a monthly sip-and-shop event where guests enjoy wine, beer and cocktails while discovering new shops, restaurants and experiences throughout the Legacy West neighborhood. There will be a photo op, live music and shopping discounts.

Guests will check in at Renaissance Dallas at Plano Legacy West Hotel, receive a collectible tasting glass and map, and then set off to enjoy samples of wine, beer and cocktails at participating restaurants and retailers at Legacy West. Stop by Visit Plano’s Visitor Center for a free bottle of water!

12. Victorian Eggstravaganza and spring festival

On April 9, The Heritage Farmstead Museum is delighted to bring back the Victorian Eggstravaganza and Spring Festival. This spring holiday tradition offers a glimpse into Farm life on the Blackland Prairie as well as an opportunity to celebrate spring with traditional family-friendly activities.

Join HFM they showcase volunteers demonstrating the art of sheep shearing, as well as hands-on skirting, washing, spinning and weaving techniques, in an informative exhibit titled From Sheep to Shawl.

Take a tour through the Farrell Wilson Home which features the latest exhibit “For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow.”  Also, enjoy hands-on demonstrations, make a craft, take a hay-ride throughout the 4 acre site. 

Urban Movement festival vol. 6

On April 16, the Urban Movement Festival will bring the culture of underground hip-hop movement out into the open skies of Downtown Plano’s McCall Plaza. Join us for 2-versus-2 Dance Battles, B-boy/B-girl battles, and dance team showcases. This is an all-ages event with a family-friendly environment, celebrating more than 40 years of Hip-Hop. Our mission is to create a safe place for young adults to dance and compete in Plano. The event is already attracting young adult competitors and attendees from all over Texas and some surrounding states.

13. Salt the Rim

Taste and dance your way through Plano’s annual margarita tasting celebration, Salt the Rim, on May 7 sponsored by Plano Magazine. Get an early start with performances by ballet folklorico dancers, a mariachi band, and a Latin party band. Participate in the margarita tasting for $40 and vote which Downtown Plano bar has the best margarita!

14. brunch en blanc

Ebb & Flow at The Shops at Legacy North has officially deemed April as National Brunch Month. To kickoff the inaugural #NationalBrunchMonth, they will be hosting Brunch en Blanc – an exclusive brunch party for 100 guests, outside on Lone Star Drive. Guests are required to dress in white and partake in the gourmet brunch.
