Plano Civic Chorus is embarking on a new and exciting chapter in our 50 year history. Now a robust 100-voice choir and under the direction of new Artistic Director and Conductor Dr. Randy Hooper, this 51st season will feature four exciting and thought-provoking concerts that are sure to captivate audiences.
Our first concert of the 2023-2024 season, “Silence and Music” explores the beauty of silence and how music and sound move us. It will feature two Ralph Vaughan Williams pieces, Silence and Music and Serenade to Music, as well as music from Jake Runestad, Gweneth Walker, Dan Forrest, William Walton and others. Plano Civic Chorus is pleased to have all three choirs of the Children’s Chorus of Collin County joining us, under the leadership of Janie Oliver, Artistic Director and Conductor, and conductors Rachel Franklin, and Lindy Perez. We will also be honored to have students from Plano ISD’s Regional Day School Program for the Deaf, who will sign ASL on the opening and closing combined pieces with the choirs.
