International Women’s Day Celebration 2024

Join us at The Shops of Willow Bend as we honor International Women’s Day, a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women since 1911. This year, we are proud to embrace the theme #inspireinclusion, showcasing a series of inspirational and cultural experiences on this momentous day.
In partnership with the Plano International Festival, the event will feature a diverse array of performances, cultural booths, a fashion show, and an art exhibit, all highlighting the creativity and entrepreneurship of women from around the world. Community leaders and officials, including Councilmember, Julie Holmer will be in attendance to support and celebrate the powerful contributions of women in our community.
Performances will include a vibrant selection of dance styles, including Chinese dancing, Indian classical dancing, flamenco, belly dancing, Peruvian dance, and Colombian dancing. Each performance will captivate audiences, providing a snapshot of the world’s rich cultural tapestry.
Visitors can also explore cultural booths featuring Brazil’s gold grass jewelry, Japan’s Ikebana flower arrangements, Mexican handicrafts, and Chinese cultural crafts.
The vibrant international fashion show promises to be a highlight of the event, with stunning attire from Panama, Azerbaijan, China, Mexico, India, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Ecuador, and many other countries. This powerful display will not only highlight global fashion but also the strength and beauty of women’s contributions to the livelihood of countless communities.
Art enthusiasts will be delighted by the art exhibit, which includes acrylic art, oil paintings, and a watercolor painting exhibit. These pieces will provide a visual feast and celebrate the artistic achievements of women.
