The Arts Foundation of St. Andrew Methodist Church launches a fall music series, bringing in national and international musicians in addition to local talent, including five area high school choirs. The performances will take place in both the new Hasley Chapel and the sanctuary, located at 5801 W. Plano Parkway in Plano. There is no cost for the series.
On Nov. 5, 4 p.m., Peter Holder, the sub-organist for Westminster Abbey since 2017, will perform in the sanctuary. Recently, Holder served as the organist for both Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral service and King Charles III’s coronation service. In his role as sub-organist, Holder is the chief musical assistant to the organist and master of the choristers, playing the organ for the Abbey’s daily services and accompanying the Abbey Choir in recordings and concerts. He is the principal deputy conductor of the choir and assists in training the choristers. Having served for two years as Organ Scholar of Westminster Abbey, he was sub-organist of St Paul’s Cathedral between 2014 and 2017. As a recitalist, Holder performs in cathedrals and concert halls across the world.
Registration is requested for all events.
