Plano transportation history comes back to life with this interesting exhibit. The Interurban Railway Museum is an interactive museum for children and adults of all ages. Visitors learn the history of the Texas Electric Railway and the science behind how it worked.
Once a vital part of the Texas Electric Railway which stretched from Denison to Waco, the Interurban is one of the original electric cars that ran on the tracks through Plano. Also on site is Car 360 which carried mail, as well as passengers. Open Monday thru Friday from 10:00 am-2:00 pm and Saturday from 1:00 pm-5:00 pm. There is no entrance fee; however, contributions are greatly appreciated. Individual and group tours of the museum can be arranged by contacting the museum.
