Q&A with olivia

Q. Can you tell us a little about yourself, Olivia?

A. I was born and raised in Texas but I love to travel! My interests include writing, dancing, visiting museums, and listening to podcasts about movies.

Q. How long have you been with Visit Plano?

A. Since November of 2020.

Q. What were your previous roles before the Visit Plano team?

A. Before coming to Visit Plano I worked in entertainment. I was an event coordinator for Red Door Escape Room. I’ve also been a production manager for a non-profit theatre company in Lakeway, TX called TexARTS.

Q. What is your favorite part about working for Visit Plano so far?

A. My co-workers! I also enjoy creating fun gift baskets for our clients and other VIPs.

Q. What have you found to be some of your favorite things to do in Plano thus far?

A. I love exploring all of the diverse restaurants in Plano. You can truly get any cuisine here.

Q. What has been your favorite vacation?

A. Definitely New Orleans. I’ve vacationed there at least four times and I love it more each time.

Q. Guilty pleasure: What can you not live without?

A. Dr. Pepper and reality TV shows. I love all the drama!

Q. What is an interesting fact about yourself?

A. I was Princess of the Hasinai Society of the Caddo Nation from 2006-2008 (see photo below on the right in full traditional Caddo regalia). While that sounds regal (and it was) I earned that title through a pageant; it was not passed down to me from a royal blood line. I also love reptiles! When I was younger, I wanted to be an herpetologist, which is a scientist that studies reptiles and amphibians. In the photo on the left below, I’m petting a bearded dragon at Reptile Con. Also, in college I studied abroad in Costa Rica. In the middle photo below, I’m posing by a crater near the neighborhood I was living in.
