Steinfest 2019

Steinfest is an Oktoberfest-style event hosted by the Historic Downtown Plano Association that celebrates outstanding beer, great food and the right kind of polka music to get you and your friends dancing in the street.

This year’s Steinfest takes place on Friday, October 25 from 5 PM to 11 PM and Saturday, October 26 from 10 AM to 10 PM in Downtown Plano. It will include the finest beer, German-inspired cuisine, live music, an artist village of craftsman and makers, a canine fashion show, keg bowling, a petting zoo and a VIP beer garden.

Kid’s Activities Available at Steinfest!

Steinfest is a family-friendly event. There’s something for everyone to do, including the kids! Besides dancing to Polka music and cheering at the Canine Fashion Show, Steinfest will have a Kid Zone with all kinds of fun fall activities, including:

  • A petting zoo
  • Fall harvest photo-ops
  • Outdoor games
  • Crafts
  • And more!

Games aren’t just for the kids!

Step right up to the Steinfest Game Center, where you can try you hand at keg bowling,

giant beer pong, cornhole, and other festival favorites.

The Game Center will be located on E 15th St. in Downtown
Plano.

 

 

CONTESTS

Canine Fashion Show

Your pup could win the 5th Annual Canine Show!

Bring your fur babies decked out in their best dress for our judges, and both you and your dog could win prizes and treats. There is no costume theme, just be creative and cute.

Entry into the canine fashion show is open to all breeds. Only the first 50 to register will be able to compete; everyone else will be placed on our waitlist.

Brat Eating Contest

Test the strength of your stomach and compete in the 3rd Annual Brat Eating Contest

If the food is your favorite part of Steinfest, this tasty competition is the one for you! Participants will compete to see who can eat the most Bratwursts in five minutes. Come hungry and ready to win a prize and a t-shirt!

It is $10 to enter with a prize of $100 for the winner, but spots are limited. All participants must be 18 or older. Only the first 20 people to register get to compete; everyone else will be placed on our waitlist.

Prove your strength at Steinfest!

Compete in our Annual Masskrugstemmen (Strong Man) Competition

This is the competition for all of the uber Steinfest fans! The masskrugstemmen is a contest of strength where participants hold a beer-filled stein out at a 90 degree angle for as long as they possibly can. The last one standing with their stein held out straight is deemed the winner of the masskrugstemmen, and will be awarded a prize and a t-shirt!

It is $10 to enter with a prize of $100 for the winner plus a free steinQ All participants must be 21+. Only the first 30 people to register get to compete; everyone else will be waitlisted.

Test your vocal cords!
Compete in our Annual Kid’s Yodeling Contest

The louder the better! Young festival attendees will have an opportunity to let out their best yodel, competing for prizes on the Steinfest Main Stage.

There is NO COST to enter, but spots are limited. All participants must be 14 and under. Only the first 15 people to register get to compete; everyone else will be put on a wait list.
