Let’s make Wednesday nights a new tradition where KIDS take the lead on making dinner! Who’s with us?
Join us as we make dinner fun! Our new online weekly cooking series — Let’s Make Dinner! — provides children ages 6 to 15 the opportunity to connect with others, learn new skills, discover new foods and gather together to prepare dinner for their family each week.
Limited-size live classes are full of excitement and connection, each class culminating with a hearty, healthy family dinner. From crazy fried rice, to handmade meatballs & marinara and make-your-own quesadillas with guacamole and salsa and more — this class will be the highlight of your week!
Whether your child’s dream is to be a chef or they simply want to try something new, watch them develop knife skills, learn about sauce-making, and perfect their seasoning skills as we work our way towards Kitchen independence. Get ready for some kitchen fun as we take the guess work out of what’s for dinner.
Each class is $25 per family if you commit to the 4-week series (beginning the first week of June) or $30 for drop-ins.
Each dinner menu is customizable based on the ingredients you can find and your family’s dietary preferences whether you are vegetarian or gluten-free. We’ve got you covered.
June Dinner Menus:
– June 3: Taco Mac & Cheese
– June 10: Crazy Fried Rice w/ Teriyaki Sauce
– June 17: Meatballs & Marinara
– June 24: Quesadillas w/ Salsa & Guac
– Live 2-hour class experience
– Preparing a hearty and healthy family dinner including a protein, starch & veggie
– Shopping list and recipes emailed prior
– Email access to our head Chef to answer any questions about ingredient substitutions before the class
– “Parents Only” video with tips on how to make this a fun experience for parents as well
How This Works
Live Online Class:We’ll be sharing the same amazing culinary entertainment you’d get if you were in our Kitchen, except you can be in your jammies (no judgement here).
Participation:Participation is for children ages 6-15 with an adult present to chaperone and assist as needed. Our goal is for the kids to do as much of the cooking as they can. We will be using knives, peelers, raw chicken/beef, and the stovetop and oven throughout our series so based on your child’s age and kitchen comfort, you will be their sous-chef as needed. Otherwise, we want parents to sit back and enjoy!
You will receive an email the week before each class that includes a shopping list for dinner along with the recipe(s) so that you can purchase what you need to actively participate. Most ingredients are pantry staples and/or readily available in most grocery stores. Each dinner menu is customizable based on the ingredients you can find and your family’s dietary preferences whether you are vegetarian or gluten-free. We’ve got you covered.
Accessing the Class:
You will need to download the free Zoom app onto your desktop, tablet or phone before the class. You will receive a separate email that includes a Zoom link to our online class. We recommend joining from a laptop to see better but tablets work just fine as well. Please have all of your ingredients and equipment ready and waiting and your recipes out.
