Movies in the Park: “LEGO Ninjago Movie”

Head to Haggard Park in Downtown Plano on the last Saturday of every month, June through August, to watch some of this year’s most loved family-friendly blockbusters. The season opens with the “LEGO Ninjago Movie” on Saturday, June 30. Pre-movie activities begin at 6:30 p.m. and screenings begin at 8 p.m.

For June’s LEGO Ninjago, attendees are invited to compete in a LEGO build contest. In the movie, the ninjas fight villains using their skills and cool fleet of vehicles. Each ninja’s vehicle is unique: a robot dragon, a lightning jet, an ice tank, a water strider, and robots that shoot fire and soundwaves! Create your own ninja vehicle and bring it ALREADY BUILT to Movies in the Park. The 3 most CREATIVE entries will be awarded prizes.

Also at the June LEGO Ninjago screening, Roser Martial Arts Center will host a “ninja training” before the movie starts. Food trucks will be on site to sell refreshments. Remember to bring a blanket or lawn chairs!

The battle for NINJAGO City calls to action young Master Builder Lloyd, aka the Green Ninja, along with his friends, also secret ninja warriors. Led by Master Wu, as wise-cracking as he is wise, they must defeat the evil warlord Garmadon, who also happens to be Lloyd’s dad. Pitting father against son, the epic showdown tests these fierce but undisciplined modern-day ninjas as they learn to check their egos and pull together to unleash the inner power of Spinjitzu.

Upcoming screenings:
July 28 – Coco
August 25 – A Wrinkle in Time
