Divya Nayar Artist Showcase ’23

Immerse in an intimate evening of dance, music & visual arts at our experiential showcase of Divya Nayar – A dancer-musician from India!
Garage Arts Project is excited to present the first dance showcase of 2023, featuring a solo performance by Divya Nayar, a multi-faceted, emerging dancer-choreographer and musician from India. The audience will also get to enjoy two group showcases- a unique work that will be the culmination of choreographic explorations by the attendees of the Emerge choreographic workshop facilitated by Divya Nayar and the latest work of the Garage Arts Project Dance Ensemble – Four Seasons.
The evening will also feature the stunning works of Anne Royer – a Studio visual artist, art historian, and educator from Mckinney, TX. She is also the Director of the Arts and Music Guild, a 501c3.
Come experience an intimate afternoon of unique and new works of dance – an interesting mix of classical and contemporary movement explorations.
About the featured artist:
Divya began dancing as a part-time student of Kalakshetra. She further deepened her practice of art under her teacher and acclaimed dancer-choreographer Sri Sheejith Krishna. Under his guidance, she taught at his Sahrdaya Foundation and performed extensively as a solo and repertory performer. She is a devoted disciple of the art form, and her intellectual adherence to neat technique and a natural flair for facial expressions have won her many praises and plaudits. Her works are lauded for their aesthetic simplicity and musicality, and her devotion to the art reinforces her commitment and passion for teaching and choreography.
Divya teaches at Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev’s Isha Samskriti in Coimbatore, India.
Divya will present Bhageerathi: an ode to the river goddess Ganga.
