National Burger Day: 6 Plano Burger Spots

It’s probably already marked on your calendar, but just in case it isn’t… today is National Burger day! There’s no better way to celebrate than to indulge in a juicy burger. Roll up those sleeves and grab some napkins, it’s BURGER time.

There are so many restaurants that serve up one of America’s favorite foods, but lucky you, we’re here to help narrow it down.

6 Plano Burger Hot-Spots:

Hickory
Don’t let this new swanky BBQ joint by super-chef Kent Rathbun fool you. There are six equally enjoyable meaty-sandwhiches on this menu: Hickory Classic, Texas Roadhouse, Smoked Burnt Ends Chili, Comanche Buffalo, Farm House, and Mediterranean Lamb Sirloin. Try one with a side of Hickory Waffle Fries loaded with blue cheese, bacon, and scallions. hickoryplano.com

Kelly’s Eastside
Named by Texas Monthly as one of the top 50 Best Burgers in Texas, this Downtown Plano Arts District establishment has bragging rights. There’s a whopping 11 burgers to choose from on the menu. We may be biased, but we like the Plan-O Burger. kellyseastside.com

Kenny’s Burger Joint
Half pound burgers cooked on a wood-fired grill. The menu has 14 burgers ranging from the classic Zeds Straight Up Burger to the indulgence of the Mushroom Burger, heaped with Brie and sautéed mushrooms. kennysburgerjoint.com

Love & War in Texas
The Athens Original Hamburger, also available with buffalo meat for a $1 more. Picture this: a half-pound of chopped sirloin on their signature jalapeno cheese bun, served with fries and beer beans. YUM! loveandwarintexas.com

The Royale Magnificent Burgers
The name says it all. From your standard Royale with lettuce, cheddar cheese, tomato, bacon and truffle aioli to The Lobster Rhapsody with a tempura fried Maine lobster patty, EVO, green onion, lime zest, tomato, vegetable coleslaw, and Sriracha aioli… there’s something for everyone on this unique burger-focused menu. Add a homemade soda and flight of fries with dipping sauces and be sure to cap off the meal with a shake, banana split, or hot fudge sundae! royaleburgers.com

Whiskey Cake
The OMG Burger. Brisket patty, big onion ring, roasted cremini’s, Muenster cheese, grain mustard, red chili mayo, lettuce and tomato all stacked between challah buns. It’s a must try and you are guaranteed to say OMG when it arrives to the table. whiskey-cake.com
