Plano’s Rockin’ Live Music Scene

Plano live music at The Shops at Legacy

Plano’s live music scene is stronger than ever before. Even locals may be surprised to learn there are more than 25 venues across the city that offer some sort of live music on a regular basis. From hip restaurants to unique venues, you’re bound to find something close by that interests you. Here’s a breakdown for you:

RESTAURANTS

Several restaurants offer weekly live music nights like Urban Crust in the Downtown Plano Arts District as well as Sambuca 360 at The Shops at Legacy. In Plano you can find a little something for everyone from country at Love & War in Texas to polka at the Bavarian Grill. Hub Streat in the Downtown Plano Arts District is another culinary entertainment center featuring food trucks and other restaurant concepts, an entertainment stage, a rooftop bar, and a barcade.

LIVE MUSIC EVENTS

In May, a unique opportunity is the second Texas’ Tribute to Elvis Festival May 26-28 at Southfork Ranch. The nine month-long Courtyard Texas Music Series presented by Plano Stages kicks-off again in March at Courtyard Theater. Plano also hosts the Live & Local series the third Friday and Saturday of each month at McCall Plaza. Mark your calendar for Plano Artfest April 22-23 in the Downtown Plano Arts District featuring live music, performances from local arts groups, an artist village, family chalk art, and much more. Other downtown events featuring live music in McCall Plaza include the Downtown Plano Art & Wine Walk on the second Thursday of each month April through December and the popular Night Out on 15th on June 3. VENUES

Many venues in Plano like Courtyard Theater and the Amphitheater at Oak Point Park play host to several music events a year. The newest of Plano’s venues is McCall Plaza (pictured) in the heart of the downtown where you’ll find the monthly Live & Local series and during downtown Plano events you are sure to find a band playing on stage.

COMING SOON

We are so excited for two venues opening soon where live music was not just an afterthought; it was a primary focus. Legacy Hall at the new Legacy West development features more than 20 artisanal food stalls, a full-service bar, on-site brewery, beer garden, and live music stage. The Box Garden for live music will be opening in March 2018.
