The struggle is always real when it comes to eating healthy and staying fit! If dropping a few pounds is still on your wish list this year, don’t push it aside while traveling to Plano. Healthy foods do not have to be boring and bland. Here are some restaurants offering healthy and sustainable menus in Plano.

Bellagreen American Bistro

Bellagreen newly opened at The Shops at Legacy an will soon open another location at Preston Road and Park Boulevard in early 2019. There CEO, Jason Morgan, says their mission is to make life and the earth more beautiful with every meal. The menu includes appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, tacos, burgers, pizzas, pastas, and desserts. Favorites include honey fried goat cheese and arugula salad,brick chicken, and white chocolate bread pudding. There are options for gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, and vegetarian. The menu offers Best Agricultural Practices (BAP) certified seafood, locally-sourced Texas Angus beef, and an extensive selection of Sustainability In Practice (SIP) certified wines. Bellagreen operates in a low-impact, environmentally green spaces that leverage water-saving devices, alternative power sources, and green practices to maintain harmony with the environment.

BerryNaked at Legacy Hall

We just met the next generation of “popsicles.” Nothing about these pops are artificial, processed or colored; all you’ll find is naked goodness. Built from a passion for nutrition, these tasty (and healthy) treat alternatives are perfect for any season and just downright amazing. Berrynaked is rewriting the way you’ll look at (and taste) popsicles. Need something heartier? Try one of their soulful or sinful bowls made with fresh fruit and other healthy ingredients, like the “Runner” with organic pitaya, pineapple, banana, coconut water, organic blue agave and organic cocoa butter blended together and garnished with fresh banana, strawberry, blueberry, hempseed granola and coconut shavings. Delicious!

LC Kitchen at Legacy Central

LC Kitchen is a health conscious food hall with four farm-to-fork food stalls. Operated by food service pioneer Bon Appétit Management Company, the restaurant serves wild-caught salmon and other sustainable seafood, Certified Humane ground beef, meat raised without antibiotics, and vegetarian and vegan options; other special dietary needs are cheerfully accommodated. Everything is made in-house from scratch.

Four Food Stalls Include:

  • Homestead: salads, soups, and sandwiches
  • Tacos Por Favor: taqueria
  • Rhino Grill: grass-fed burgers, free-range chicken, roasted vegetables, and chef-inspired daily specials
  • Joeun: modern Korean dishes such as banchan, fried chicken, and traditional noodle and rice dishes

Modern Market

At Modern Market Eatery, the pulse of the market is alive and thriving. The ingredients are pure, simple and grown to make you feel good. The fresh and vibrant dishes are passionately crafted from scratch and it’s all served up in an electric atmosphere mixing the energy of a local market with a modern eatery while delivering amazing fare that will move you forward. Plus, there are two locations in Plano!

Featured menu items include: farmer salad with mixed greens, roasted chicken, feta, seasonal fruit, corn, almond, and champagne vinaigrette; basil chicken sandwich with roasted chicken, basil aioli, tomato, red onion, provolone, and arugula on ciabatta; brick oven pizzas; and the smoky chicken bowl with heirloom rice, roasted chicken, chili sweet potato, Cholula citrus slaw, roasted grape tomato, cotija, avocado-tomatillo salsa, and smoked crema.

True Food Kitchen

True Food Kitchen believes food should make you feel better and you shouldn’t have to sacrifice taste to live a healthier lifestyle. It’s a health-driven restaurant with an open-concept kitchen merging nutrient-rich ingredients with a flavor-forward menu that changes regularly. They cater to nearly every food preference with a variety of gluten-free, naturally organic, vegetarian, and vegan offerings. Each of the scratch bars offer a selection of wine, local beers, and seasonal cocktails made with fresh-pressed fruit and vegetable juices paired with organic spirits. According to their website, the menu is rooted in the principles of Dr. Andrew Weil’s anti-inflammatory diet emphasizing wholesome, simple ingredients with simple preparations.

Featured menu items include: farmers market crudités, kale guacamole, fennel chicken sausage pizza, Mediterranean quinoa salad, spicy Panang curry bowl, poke bowl, and spaghetti squash casserole.
