7 Things to Do in Plano this Summer

1. Swim Across Texas

The historic Texas Pool is 168,000 gallons of saltwater shaped like the great State of Texas and is officially a National Landmark listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

The pool is open Memorial Day to Labor Day and features a diving board, two water slides, and an island with a shallow “South Texas” wading area for small children and parents. Cook out on their BBQ grills or enjoy the snack bar. There are also picnic tables and a beach volleyball court. Tourist passes are available!

2. Catch Live Music

When it comes to finding live music in Plano, Legacy Hall knows how put on a show! All summer long they are throwing out all the tunes of all genres. From Kenny Chesney and George Straight to ACDC and Journey, Legacy Hall has all the best tribute concerts covered this summer. Check out all their upcoming concerts on their calendar.

Legacy Hall is taking every precaution to make their live shows safe and fun. You must purchase tickets via Eventbrite to enjoy the music in the Box Garden. This will allow Legacy Hall to safely manage capacity. See more house rules on their website.

3. Attend a Sip & Stroll event

Join us in downtown Plano for the Margarita Walk on June 12 between 12 p.m. – 6 p.m. to taste a variety of mouthwatering margaritas! From watermelon and jalapeno to peach and swirl, there are 15 unique and delicious margaritas waiting for you to enjoy!

Participants will receive a Margarita Stroll taster and a map that will direct you to the 15 tasty stops. Tickets are just $30 per person. Tickets are very limited and support our friends at the Plano Arts & Heritage Foundation. Find more details here.

All summer long, enjoy the monthly Happy Hour Hikes with Legacy West and Plano Magazine. These are monthly sip-and-shop events where guests enjoy wine, beer and cocktails while discovering new shops, restaurants and experiences throughout the Legacy West neighborhood.

Guests will check in, receive a collectible tasting glass and map, and then set off to enjoy samples of wine, beer, cocktails and non-alcoholic refreshers at participating restaurants and retailers at Legacy West. One thing is for sure when it comes to Plano, there are endless shopping options to experience. Dallas may be known as one of the top shopping destinations in the U.S., but just 20 miles north, you can continue the one-of-a-kind shopping adventure in Plano.

5. Walk the boardwalk

Day or night, The Boardwalk at Granite Park makes for a special dining experience!
